Dr. Višnjica Vučetić, research associates (2012.–2020.)




She graduated in the Meteorology field of study in 1981 and Geophysics field in 1982 at the Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. She achieved her master degree (MSc) in 1991 and PhD in 2011 at the same faculty. Since 1982 she has been employed in the Meteorological and Hydrological Service of Croatia, and currently she is a head of the Agrometeorology Department. She has been involved in scientific research at 11 national and 9 international projects for various topics: mechanism of bura wind and wind energy in the Adriatic, monitoring of climate change and its impact on agricultural production, plant phenological stages and the potential risk of forest fires. In the period 2006–2018 she has been Croatian delegate in the Commission of Agricultural Meteorology (CAgM) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). She worked in the Expert Teams of CAgM WMO in the period 2010–2018 and 2015–2018 in the Working Group of Climatology and Hydrology for Europe in charge of the agrometeorology. She was the Croatian delegate in the Management Committee of the EU projects COST 734 (CLIVAGRI) i COST ES 1106 (AGRI-WAT). She has coordinated a number of programs in applied meteorology and climatology for different purposes. She held the module of Agroclimatology at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb as an external lecturer. She was a co-mentor of 15 theses and a doctoral dissertation in agrometeorology. She was published about hundred scientific and professional papers in national and international publications. She held various positions in the Croatian Meteorological Society, Croatian Ecological Society, Croatian Natural Science Society, and is the founder of the Croatian Agrometeorological Society, of which she was president from June 13, 2012 to December 18, 2020. She participated in founding the Global Federation of Agrometeorological Societies. In this way she popularizes meteorology and agrometeorology.
